Hillary Clinton: Europe must curb immigration to stop rightwing populists

Europe and centre left everywhere need tougher approach to phenomenon that fuelled Trump and Brexit, says Clinton

Europe must get a handle on immigration to combat a growing threat from rightwing populists, Hillary Clinton has said, calling on the continent’s leaders to send out a stronger signal showing they are “not going to be able to continue to provide refuge and support”.

In an interview with the Guardian, the former Democratic presidential candidate praised the generosity shown by the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, but suggested immigration was inflaming voters and contributed to the election of Donald Trump and Britain’s vote to leave the EU.

“I think Europe needs to get a handle on migration because that is what lit the flame,” Clinton said, speaking as part of a series of interviews with senior centrist political figures about the rise of populists, particularly on the right, in Europe and the Americas.

“I admire the very generous and compassionate approaches that were taken particularly by leaders like Angela Merkel, but I think it is fair to say Europe has done its part, and must send a very clear message – ‘we are not going to be able to continue provide refuge and support’ – because if we don’t deal with the migration issue it will continue to roil the body politic.”

I see this as a victory in the culture war finally she's actually got it that half the country don't want multiculturalism and these people need to be listened to they cant just be dismissed with name calling.
But I do question how genuine she is about it and think she is just pandering to the masses for votes and it isn't what she believes and will probably not be something she stands by if ever elected.
And even if it is true she's still a radical progressive in every other way and crooked to boot, so I still wouldn't vote for her
Really hope the left don't put her up for 2020 and they manage to find a better candidate and more reform in the left with a return to more traditional centre left libertarian way of thinking then they might actually be a party worth vetoing for

Hillary Clinton’s latest comments have to be the final nail in the ‘centrist’ coffin

Ever since Hillary Clinton’s dismal failure to beat Donald Trump in the 2016 US presidential election, her appearances in global politics have caused widespread anger and despair. This reached a climax recently when rumours circulated that she might run again in 2020.

But now, in an interview with the Guardian, she has surpassed herself – with comments as shameful as they are lacking in common sense. They have to be the final nail in centrism’s coffin.

She claimed, for example, that “Europe needs to get a handle on migration because that is what lit the flame” of right-wing populism – essentially suggesting that politicians need to be even more right-wing in order to fight off the far right.

During a series of interviews with centrist political figures throughout Europe, Clinton said:

Europe… must send a very clear message – ‘we are not going to be able to continue [to] provide refuge and support’ – because if we don’t deal with the migration issue it will continue to roil the body politic.

It’s not unfair to say that Clinton has done more to create the ‘migration issue’ than most politicians. Because as US secretary of state, for instance, Clinton was instrumental in the 2011 bombing and subsequent massive destabilisation of Libya.

After NATO forces deposed Gaddafi in 2011 (whose son Clinton welcomed to the US two years prior), Libya became a “failed state”. Many of the refugee boats crossing the Mediterranean Sea for Europe are now full of Libyan refugees; they are fleeing a humanitarian disaster of Washington’s making.

Now that the consequences of Western foreign policy are visible in the Western world, it’s shameful that these policies’ architects (like Clinton) are pointing the finger at refugees and not themselves.

I'm all for a little immigration so long as its done right and we get to choose who we let in to our country just not Europe's approach of uncontrolled immigration of economic migrants who contribute nothing to a country's economy.
Most of them cant even read or write and have extremely low IQ so low in fact that they are considered unfit for military service those people will most likely never contribute to the economy's of the country's they migrate to not without years of help at the taxpayers expense.

I have been seeing this behaviour for a while now the demonisation of anyone who dares speak out about the rape culture and other problems associated with these people and the usual science denying stance progressives take to any study that contradicts them or any attempt to discuss the problem rationally is always met with hate mobs and accusations of racism ect and most times someone loses there job.

As to an alternative to the right we do have UKIP but they are plagued with problems with there past dealing with groups like the EDL giving them a bad reputation and that's the big problem for these groups is they do attract real racist's and mainstream media will always use that to smear there reputation so well meaning individuals voices don't get the exposure to get there message across.
