Equality of outcome vs Equality of opportunity is something I have wanted to make a post on for a while now, it's something that is becoming an increasing problem in society
Equality of outcome is part of the Marxist social justice school of thought and largely finds it origins in collectivism its is the idea that all facets of society should have equal representation of genders/ethnicity/gays/trans ect in all areas of society as well as equal pay for everyone concerned.
On the surface this all sounds fair and a good thing but it could not be further from the truth when you scratch the surface you realise that in order to get the outcomes they want it will take an extremely authoritarian approach to reinforce that and ultimately leads to discrimination of potentially more suitable skilled applicants.
Further more it dose not reward effort in the work place by capping everyone on the same pay and denying you your right to negotiate a pay raise from your boss for your stellar work and effort.

The flip side of the coin is Equality of opportunity the idea that we base employment decisions on a meritocracy and that we are all free to chose our own path in life and end up where we are free of any attempts to socially engineer society and force specific outcomes
employers are not obligated to hire anyone other than the people they believe are the best for the job based on skill and Merritt, they make the best choices possible that will yield them the best possible overall productivity per employee in order to maximise profits.
Also under this line of thinking each employee is entitled to negotiate a pay raise from there boss and long term employees revive yearly raises in appreciation for there service to the company (well with sensible bosses) because it is in the interest of the employers to want to keep a hold of there best employees.

Jordan B Peterson talks about this often and makes allot of sense.

but no one says it as well as Sargon.

what would you prefer in the work place? would you like to know you earned your job because your worth it or know you only got in because of some superficial trait ?
And what it you have a job and did earn your way in and see affirmative action in effect and see the low quality of effort from your co-workers doing less and being paid the same and you are asking yourself why did we employ these people ?

This is just another in a long list of Marxist collectivist ideology that is infecting society seeking to give undeserved privilege to people who did not earn it and do not deserve it.

Some food for though for you hope you like it and if it interests you there allot more out there on the interwebs for hungry minds :P

Social engineering is the feeling I get now with all this online control (UC) and not being able to think for myself and that cannot be healthy for people who fight any attempt to BE controlled. It`s very difficult these days not to be sucked into other people`s thinking and feel trapped by dogma. Gone are the days when we did feel able to tread our own path without buerocracy standing in the way. I feel those days are well and truly gone.

I now very well what you mean CoD i feel like forces are working hard to have total control over my life with rules and regulations and laws but i try and tell myself I'm still free coz if I don't like there rules I'm just gona break them

“I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”
