On 9 August, a councillor at Edinburgh City Council tweeted a scathing statement attacking the Conservatives. She said she had left the Scottish Conservatives in July because of the “treatment of the disabled” by the DWP and other policies. Ashley Graczyk, formerly a Conservative councillor, says she now supports Scottish independence, and the Edinburgh Evening News reports that she may now join the SNP.

Quote from the Canary article:

Graczyk’s move will be an embarrassment to Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson. The ex-Tory councillor’s ward sits within Davidson’s Holyrood constituency of Edinburgh Central.
So perhaps the Conservative Party will listen to its former colleague about the destructive impact DWP policies have on vulnerable people.

Somehow I think it`s more likely that Davidson won`t be phased by her party colleagues move. The Tories will now see her as a deserter and offer some soundbites for her leaving rather than admit they are wrong.

they are like race horses with blinders on and only see whats in front of them on the course they have laid out and its all good full steam ahead no matter what everyone else thinks or how many times they are found gilty of human rights violations.
i mean how many times dose a goverment need to be acused and found gilty of human rights violations before the voters realise they are nothing but villians errodeing our quality of life.

Because voters are also blinkered and think the Tories will save them all from Brexit and shit knows what else. People need to vote in CHANGE and take a RISK now and then instead of following historical failures. I always vote SNP now unless they don`t have a candidate on the ballot paper. Greens would be a close second. The rest, zero in my book. The Cons, Labour and the Lib Dems have all had their chance and yet, what has changed? NOTHING. The SNP may be a Scottish party with their hands tied by Westminster much of the time, but I will stick by them as long as they fight for a fairer Scotland and on welfare issues. Scotland doesn`t have the Work & Health programme for example. Our government introduced Fair Start instead which is completely VOLUNTARY to participate in and not a given.

If we have an Indy2 referendum I will vote for it, as I did before. I`m not scared of change, but it seems there are still those in society that are happy to stay conjoined to Westminster in the belief that life will get better. If they remain in that mindset, then we`re all doomed.

In My Humble Opinion; The only thing that will Kick Start REAL CHANGE is when as a Nation we get of our arses, Switch OFF our TVs And PCs and take to the Streets;
As Many other European Countrys and Elsewhere have shown MASS Violent Confrontration CAN Get Life Changing Results;
BUT Can we Do it in this Country, Unlikely :( Most people as long as they get there Benefits, Can Play the Lottery & Enjoy SKY-TV Dont give a Flying F*** about
there Futures let alone Our Country's Future...... If We have Got One. :angry:

It`s called Distraction Paul. Too many people are content to be controlled and kept sweet by small incentive like a bonio thrown to a puppy. Every year we see train fares rocket, services eroded and pay never meeting the standards where people don`t need to worry about their next pay slip. Yet do we vote with our feet? Nope. Same old results after every election and media manipulation steering us all in the right direction using social media and propaganda. I would love Mr Corbyn to become Prime Minister today, but as long as he`s being trodden on my the Daily Fail newspaper showing images of him at a Hamas graveside, he`s always going to have to justify that or what he`s said in the past. Yet Boris can get away with verbal smears because he is who he is.

They are a bloody joke, the lot of them. Toby Jones, the Guardian journalist highlighted a story last week where he took two homeless men into a Weatherspoon restaurant to have something to eat and they wouldn`t allow them in because they would cause a `smell`. They said they HAD offered the men a free breakfast due to a confrontation they had in the street from people who had confronted them for just being homeless. Toby Jones was highlighting this incident as the acceptance of a split society that government policies and media have created and it stinks.

It`s people likeToby Jones who should be in government creating a level playing field and not the money grabbers we have year after year continually justifying why people at the bottom are undeserving and will continue to be sanctioned for being there.
