Jeremy Corbyn says a "perfect storm" of low pay, insecurity and working poverty is causing "terrible stress" for millions of families.

Jeremy Corbyn MP has hit out at the UK government for “creating a perfect storm of low pay, insecurity and working poverty” that is “causing terrible stress for millions of families across the country”.

The Labour leader will use a visit to Worcester Housing and Benefit Advice Centre, a charity offering advice and support to people struggling with rent arrears, debt and problems with benefits, to highlight rising levels of insecurity and poverty.

He will set out Labour’s policy to introduce a Real Living Wage of £10 an hour, stop the rollout of Universal Credit and ban zero-hours contacts.

Jeremy Corbyn said: “With real wages lower than they were ten years ago, deep cuts to social security, rising borrowing just to make ends meet and the growth of insecure work, the Conservatives have created a perfect storm of low pay, insecurity and working poverty.

“This rising insecurity, with so many without savings to fall back on, is causing terrible stress for millions of families across the country.

“These scandalous levels of in-work poverty are unacceptable and must be brought to an end.

“Every job should provide dignity and security.

What this country really needs is a bad decision for Brexit (Tories failing to get a `deal`) and a general election called but even if that was to happen, we need EVERYONE to get off their bums and VOTE! Or register to vote if they are not. That`s the only way Labour will make gains. They need to WIN before we see these promises implemented. If the Tories lied their way back into power, I think I`ll apply for a passport and sell sun hats on the beach in Spain.

Just how would Corbyn & a Left wing Government Help ?.
First They wont Ever win anything, Far to far "Left" for mainstream Britain, There is just far to many Tory Voters, Big Business, Industry & Investors, to make anything more then a tiny dent in the result.
Everything Changed under Thatcher back in the 1980s, Mass Home ownership under the "Right to buy" Council Houses (That were never replaced)
Share Buying encouraged by Mass Privatisation Especially BT, Gas, Water & Electricity,
More or less outlawing of Trade Unions. Far to many People today wont ever go back to Labour,
Sorry all but what we have got we are stuck with for many years to come, Or until a REAL Alternative "Government ready" Party comes along. :(

It is to be hoped that employers won’t be throwing themselves off the White Cliffs to avoid this policy proposal.

PS: Paul, I hope it nothing serious that’s happened to Liverpool that gives rise to this pessimism.
