Send your fit note for your ESA claim
You’ll be told during your assessment for Employment Support Allowance (ESA) when you need to send fit notes (sometimes called ‘sick notes’ or ‘doctor’s notes’).

You’ll need:

your fit note signed by your doctor
your National Insurance number
a phone or tablet with a camera, or a computer with a saved photo or copy of your fit note

I`m thinking this is for people with new ESA claims who attend an ESA face to face assessment? Fit notes are usually only required when someone (like myself) who already claims ESA WRAG and is found fit for work and then goes on to appeal that decision. Once an appeal is lodged and then accepted by the tribunal, you can then claim what they call the ESA `assessment rate` payment until your appeal is heard but to receive these payments, fit notes are required from a GP relating to your health problems. This pays the same rate currently as JSA of £73.10p a week.

Asking for fit notes while attending an ESA assessment is a new one on me? Never heard of this happening before, or asking that someone takes a phone or a tablet with photo ID and/or a copy of a fit note? Although it does say `OTHER ways to claim`. System is becoming even more screwed than it already is.

That's actually all you should need to go on the sick; a fit note from your GP either for X number of days or indefinitely, no timewasting, stressful and dehumanizing assessment followed by the inevitable appeal when they have stated that they can see no evidence based on the report of a less qualified nurse wearing jeans. Your GP says you are sick, you are sick and little use to an employer whilst so. The stupidest country on earth award for 2018 goes to Great Britain yet again. We should get DWP to do the eurovision entry.

Actually I can see why a sick note on it's own isn't enough. Drs vary, for instance my old dr used to do just mainly 3 day sicknotes while my husband could get as much time as he wished. So something needed to be in place but the system as it stands now is totally wrong.

Just for paying a few bills! That's out of proportion...
