Paul, my keyboard had issues with some keys too after the 1803? Windows 10 update a few months back. If memory serves me well (and I think this is what I did to correct it) go to settings > region & language and then I think I had to change to the UK keyboard from the US keyboard? As I said, it`s within one of those settings menus but can`t remember if it`s this one or another one of the settings....hope someone else can chip in here as Im sat here scratching my head trying to remember! Hope this helps in the meantime.

Also Paul, if you look to the bottom right of your task bar, you will see the initials US or ENG. I see ENG for England because I had to switch it manually. Hover your cursor over the initials and it will say To Switch Input Method Press Windows & Space Key. I tried that but it was a temporary `fix`. I would try looking at the settings, Time & Language and see if the choices there help.

Damn it I saw something about that during last couple of days. I just got a new (recon) laptop which came with Win10 which I am not yet used to nor the keyboard that I can't touch type on yet which is exhausting although I am assuming mine is recognised as no specific problems encountered (yet). I also think settings would be a good place to start. Sorry I am not much help otherwise but will post if I see anything in the meantime whilst I try getting back up to speed. 'kin technology!

Yes if drivers are out of date will cause issue with keyboard.

Anyone who dosent know how see here:

Click start

Type device manager

Scroll to keyboard

Left click or right depending on how your mouse is configured and choose 'Update driver, restart computer and all should be good'

Note:You may have to uninstall current driver and reinstall if this did not fix issues.

Easiest way is to manually check windows 10 update in settings, update restart computer.

If things are really bad and none of the above works for driver install issues try this:

Download hardware drivers from device manufacturers website.

Microsoft Edge comes as a fixed app and default browser in Windows 10. Therefore, if you have firefox as your default browser, Edge will still run in the background - this can be confirmed by running CCleaner which will give the message: 'Edge needs to shut down...' even after clicking Yes you still need to force it shut. This isn't happening each cleanup so it seems obvious only certain sites trigger it into action. Some people claim they can stop Edge and I have already tested out some of the advice without success which could mean microsoft have since embedded Edge more securely. My main concern here is what level of data might microsoft be gleaning from us effectively as a third party. Anybody know how to stop Edge I would be most grateful.

If you are having trouble downloading firefox (which microsoft appear to have blocked) the download of CCleaner I did automatically placed Chrome on my desktop and I was able to download firefox as normal via chrome.

Verc, I use the EDGE browser as part of my Windows 10 Operating System and have never switched to using another browser. I did try Chrome once but went back to the browser I felt more familiar with. My moto is, if I`m using a Microsoft OS, I should stick with everything else that is connected with it to prevent any operational compatibility problems. I also use Defender as my security and also Malwarebytes free version.

I uninstalled CCleaner because (a) when it was owned and run by Piriform? It opened up and allowed a virus onto my laptop which was a security alert flagged up by Avast, who now run CCleaner It only affected Windows Home 32 bit users, which I am one. And (b) Avast sneakily crept onto my system while doing a CCleaner upgrade a few months ago and took over the running of my laptop security, which panicked me somewhat. Took me a while to uninstall the Avast security from my system. was in a hurry that day and forgot to `untick` the `do you want Avast as your be your default security`....or something like that. A lack of focus caused me all sorts of shinnanigans!

I don`t use CCleaner now as a result of all this happening but I do miss it. Problem is though, I kept getting security alerts that something was trying to change a folder in C: drive and defender blocked it from accessing this folder. So not sure what the hell was going on?

Hi All Windows-10 Users, B)
Soon as I get a few spare moments will do a post on how to Switch OFF, and ON Windows-10 settings,

Just Posted Info, Here:
welfarecentral.org/index.php/forum-home/internet-of-things/1827-windows-10-help#9257

If you Right click the little "Windows" Motif Far bottom left of your screen you get access to quite a few options.
Gave Edge the boot and downloaded and run Google Chrome, as this is synqued across all my Devices, Address book and so on.
Ditched Defender and Run "Total-AV" as a paid service, it also includes a very good VPN [Virtual Private Network ] With world-wide Spots you can choose to be.
Oh yes and switched OFF Cortana.

Sounds good Paul. I too found that right clicking on the Windows button reveals some options I never knew were there! How did you turn off Cortana and does it save any power or time spent at start up or anything like that? I read a while ago that Cortana is bloated and I never use the feature. I always google anything I want to know so Cortana is useless in many ways.

Fair point about using an MS browser with their OS and I have had to consider I may have to do this but I very much like the sound of what Paul has done. I am gonna need a VPN for next season if I want to put myself through watching Sunderland in the third division so look forward to the info and giving it a shot. One site I use a lot as a very active member posting public reviews only really functions best with firefox and the owner even went back to 7 because 10 caused so many problems for him. Can't wait for my virtual emigration just wish I could leg it for real.
