Well not Realey, as 2 or 3 Job Centres in most areas have been merged,
So increasing Distance to get to the new Centres, and Increasing Travel time.

Much as I would applaud not having to step into that place again, if my job centre closed it would mean a longer trip for me to get to the other one in the City, so either close them all or leave them where they are. All they are doing is trying to save money, just like the banks are closing branches using the excuse that online banking is the new gimmick. No doubt once Universal Credit is in full swing, we will all be reliant on the UC phone line and contact via our UC journals to speak to anyone.

I wonder if online banking will be funky when many accounts are hacked via wireless connections. There are too many witty individuals out there with that knowledge.

Well, my old jobcentre was closed down a few months ago, but most of the staff there have now moved to my current jobcentre. Luckily they appear to have a floor of their own (there's 4 floors at my JCP including the ground) for dealing with all their usual "customers" so hopefully I won't run into some of my previous adversaries! Indeed it is a longer journey for many of the claimants at the now closed one, what was previously a 5 minute walk now they have to get a bus there and back. I was lucky in being equidistant from both jobcentres so it didn't really affect me but for many it will be at an extra cost (for signing days at least) from their meagre benefit payments.
Flotsam: People who are considered to be worthless or to have been rejected by society.
