This article outlines the confusion and general mayhem in jobcentres due to the government sacking hundreds of JCP staff, with those remaining unable to harass probably hundred of claimants due to lack of time and overwork. Is there any way we can use this to our advantage?

I've seen this story linked here before. I think you'll find the work roaches remaining in their jobs are the ones who have been specially re-trained to harass as many claimants as possible. All the reasonable ones are disappearing rapidly, which is currently happening where I am now. When you ask what happened to them they never tell you they've been sacked/laid off, just that they're "in another department" or "off sick for some time".
Flotsam: People who are considered to be worthless or to have been rejected by society.

I think that with the rollout of digital Universal Credit they are planning to monitor claimants online with AI and claimants will not have to attend jobcentres as frequently.

It will be a robot yelling at you soon. There will be an Ian Duncan Smith and McVey android models to bully claimants.

Every cloud has a silver lining -- no more jobcentre visits!

I think I'd prefer to deal with them in the flesh than having to deal with them monitoring me online...

I`m on ESA (working related group) and my coach told me she is being `trained` on UC. So I hope she doesn`t disappear into the well of `decent` work coaches to be replaced by a black widow from hell. I fully expect to see someone else in the not so distant future and if that happens, I will ask to see a DEA (Disability Employment Advisor) if they still actually exist. I think they have all been shot too.

Why are the quotes appearing with missing letters?

I hate going to the jobcentre. the place is depressing and threatening. I can handle anything thrown at me online and via email. gives me time to think. At jobcentre my reaction time is too slow.

That`s what they want it to be. I don`t like the place either and when I do get called in, I try to stay standing and walk about because if I sit down, I get too listless and my brain goes to sleep! I also don`t like the way they call your name and then walk away with their backs turned as you follow them to their desk? It would be nice if they waited, smiled and walked with us to the desk and gave us a sense of welcome. Some work coaches do this but the majority don`t. Would be nice to see jobcentres re-open that look like a Costa coffee shop where people could go in, order a tea or coffee and sit at a computer with nobody forcing bull***t at us! Do a bit of weekly job search and leave. That`s too realistic though...
