So, it seems after a long wait the Scottish government have made some `tweeks` to what they can have power over and this page, which I will cut & paste to, seems to have little or no benefit to anyone on Universal Credit, or the benefits that will be swallowed up by it like JSA, ESA etc....

These benefits will remain in the grubby hands of Westminster, so unless you are on DLA,PIP or come under one of the criteria in the box on the right, I doubt anything is going to change much. I was feeling quite good when I read that the Scottish government would soon bring in more changes to what they (and we) see as a penalising, controlling system. But so far, I don`t see any changes and those that are being made seem to be within the areas of DLA, which is being phased over to PIP and a few other changes within the areas of funeral expenses and housing payment.

So... Where is the scrapping of the assessments by private companies? Where is the help for anyone found fit for work who have no choice but to claim JSA or Universal Credit while they appeal to have any income? Where is the compassionate side of all this that we (in Scotland) were promised? I smell a long winded air of deceit and not enough changes in these areas. How long do we have to put up with claiming ESA and having to face the same stressful assessments and uncertainty? I give up....
