Election battle begins – but cowardly PM refuses to face Jeremy Corbyn in televised debates

JEREMY CORBYN welcomed yesterday’s announcement of a snap general election on June 8, saying it was an opportunity for a Labour government to put the interests of the majority of people first.
The political party with the largest membership in Europe has 50 days to campaign for a win.
Prime Minister Theresa May made her announcement without the usual prior briefing to journalists. It represents a remarkable U-turn in the light of her previous insistence that she had no intention of holding a general election before the scheduled 2020 poll.
She claimed that divisions at Westminster risked hampering the Brexit negotiations and that she wanted “unity.” The government has a majority of just 17 MPs. Ms May admitted that she needs a stronger position in the Commons to secure her plans for Britain’s future outside the EU.

Out of mild interest London, why don't you like him? Not that there's anything wrong with not liking him, I'm just curious by nature (it's the scientist in me)

I am so fortunate to live in a democracy that gives me multiple options of who to vote for. There's the labour tories, the lib dem tories, the UKIP tories and the conservative tories. Lucky, lucky me.

I feel the unfairness that only votes for certain seats really make a difference. Safe seats, your vote is basically worthless.

Do I detect a Tory implosion? I hope so!

I think May's reference to unity speaks more about deep divisions in the Tory camp over Cameron's brexit and May's handling of it. When she said there would be no general election I think it was because she knew that her party would be defeated. I have a feeling there is a bubbling cauldron of dissent in the party and the lid is about to be lifted, not only because of the news of CPS prosecutions for Tory election fraud but I suspect there are many Tory MP's who fear that their own complicity in what is clearly the most corrupt and vicious parliament in the history of modern politics is going to come home to roost among the constituents that they purport to represent.

I think the tories are terrified of being exposed before their constituents as the frauds that they really are. I can't help wondering if this, and the prospect of expulsion or prison is what's behind the decision to call a general election.

Whatever happens, I think its going to be a short and Dirty campaign, lot of lies and mudslinging
just like any other election.
A CPS court case starting about now would do a great amount of good; ................... to Labour. B)
