Found this story from 2016 while searching around for some up to date sanction material.

It`s a shocking reality of how the welfare system now operates and looking back just to 2016, it is still very much the same.

And because of this....NEVER vote Conservative OR Liberal Democrat ever again. Labout might bring changes, but remember it was Labour who changed the sickness benefit assessments from Income Support to ESA and brought in the now infamous ATOS. We vote for MP`s and parties when elections come around, but until they are there FOR the people and not big business, we can`t trust who we vote for or indeed, what their train of thought will be concerning welfare.

I will always vote for the SNP in Scotland because they at least making some changes to our welfare system. Take note all those on benefits in Scotland because if you don`t, nothing will change.

Thanks for the link those stories are a great inspiration for something I have been writing detailing someones journey through the system.

I have not had a sanction, thankfully, but I share their experiences just for the reason I am long term unemployed and can say first hand they real experiences and not just the imagination of a lazy journalist.

That is what drives me to do something about it, I can get away with it for now but never know when the sword of doubt will fall but I am prepared now should that be the case.

What bothers me more than anything is seeing how people who know nothing of the system are treated and punished, I have been on every scheme under the sun since the youth opportunities programme and know a lot of people over the years as they pass in and pass out.

But after some sanctuary as a single parent, my partner had her own house next door, when someone shopped me there was nothing they could do, we wanted to ensure our son did not know we had split up we did not share the bills and that was that.

Then coming back on benefits in 2012 I noticed how the regime had changed, it is not fair that I can get away with it, when those who know nothing of the system are punished, it might be a game to them and me and others like me but it is not for others who lives are destroyed.

It`s a game of wits and survival now dboy and it still shocks me to read stories like this and that things have got worse and no doubt will worsen as the years go by if we don`t see any government changes. They can see the devastation their policies have caused with the select committees and charities telling them they need to STOP and re-think. But no, it just hasn`t happened.
