Nice to see a new area for sport Paul. I do like a good footy game and watch a lot of the football world cup games when they are on, although my sport is horse racing. Not on a betting level but more something I fell into around 1990 onwards having always been a horse `person` myself and rode years ago, but not racehorses! My friend has an expensive dressage horse but it`s her daughters horse and she`s off to uni at the end of this year so horsey will be sold probably as she won`t have the time to compete.

Cheltenham Festival starts Tuesday 13th March so everyone watch for a horse called Altior. He won`t be worth backing as he`ll probably be favourite and the Irish trainers come over with their best animals too, so it`s never easy to predict who will come out on top. My favourite horse running at the moment is Cue Card. He is 12 now and he`s as good as ever, but he`s fell the last twice when in the Gold Cup when running a big race but this year, he`s not in the gold cup, but running over a lesser trip of 2m 5f which should help. Just looking forward to enjoying the week and my wish is to see all the horses safe, which sadly isn`t always the case, but as an armchair viewer, I watch racing now mainly to follow the horses I see week in, week out as you get to know them and their abilities. A very tough sport that footballers would shy away from!

I don't watch as much football as I used to and my team (Sunderland) look like getting relegated for the second season in a row. I miss the home internationals especially the Scotland v England game and also watch a bit of the world cup, euros and African Cup of Nations. I like the occasional game of rugby and played both sports at youth level - I definitely preferred playing to watching. I used to like snooker when Alex Higgins was playing, I got taught how to play at lunch time when I was a hospital porter - best YOP ever even though I was always skint. Was useless at break building but a bit of a demon on the safety side had a period where I was very good at pool but pretty much gave it up when I stopped going out boozing.

My main sport now is probably watching cycling when the tours season is on. I am well fed up of all this doping scandal (wonder how squeaky clean some of those MPs would be if tested on the job). Maybe a free for all would be a better idea - your health your risk! It might at least cut down the media circus which I think ruins a lot of sport. I like the uphill, climbing stages the best (some of the descents are scary as hell) - don't think many footballers would cope with that level of endurance either. I used to cycle a lot too but the main reason I watch the races are for the scenery. One day I will spot a run down chateau during the tour de France and you won't see me for dust
