The president refused to talk with them, how many times have we heard this.

As the old saying goes, 'he who will not listen must be shown'.

Indirectly doing a great public service btw, I have said for years that those cobbles should be taken up and the surface tarmacked, extremely tricky trying to ride a bicycle on them in the rain. They should send the city planners the bill for their hard work at a high hourly rate.

with the recent civil unrest I thought now would be a good time to look at Emanuel Macron the current president of France for some insight as to why the frenchies are so unhappy with there current prime minister.

the fighting still continues over in France and in a bizarre turn of events the far left domestic terrorist group known as Antifa are actually fighting side by side with the so called Alt Right against Macron

looks like Macrons running out of alies among the public and there is large increase in the talk of France leaving the EU #Frexit

France fuel protests: Tear gas fired in clashes in Paris

Protesters have scaled the Arc de Triomphe in central Paris, as clashes with riot police continued during a third weekend of "yellow vest" rallies.

Police fired tear gas, stun grenades and water cannon on the Champs-Elysées, while masked protesters hurled projectiles and set buildings on fire.

At least 110 people were injured, including 17 members of the security forces, and 270 arrests were made.

Protests over fuel tax have grown into general anger at higher living costs.

President Emmanuel Macron says his fuel policies are needed to combat global warming.

One person was in a critical condition after protesters pulled down an iron gate at the Tuileries garden near the Louvre museum, which fell on several people.

An assault rifle was also stolen from a police vehicle although it was unclear if it was loaded, AFP news agency quotes a police source as saying.

The French interior ministry said at least 75,000 people had turned out across France for the latest "gilets jaunes" (yellow vest) rallies - so called because the protesters donned the high-vis vest required to be carried in every vehicle by law.

Nearly 190 fires were put out and six buildings were set ablaze, the interior ministry said.

'Yellow vest' protests spread to Netherlands
Protests which started in France spill over to Netherlands, Belgium

The "yellow vest" protests spread to the Netherlands on Saturday as people staged anti-government protests in various cities.

Responding to calls on social media, the protesters took to the streets in the cities of The Hague, Nijmegen, Maastricht, Alkmaar, Leeuwarden and Groningen.

Some 200 protesters demonstrated in front of the parliament building in The Hague.

Following police action some protesters left the venue while others demanded that they be let to walk around the parliament building.

Some of them removed their yellow vests upon calls from the police.

Police detained four protesters.

The 'yellow vest' protests first started in France two weeks ago against a rise in fuel prices.

On Friday, they also spread to Belgium.

Police van set ablaze as Yellow Jackets protests hit Brussels’ EU quarter

Demonstrators block roads near European Union institutions.

Protesters attacked police vans and hurled paving stones at police officers and blocked streets in Brussels’ EU quarter on Friday as an offshoot of France’s so-called Yellow Jackets movement demonstrated in the Belgian capital.

Police fired water cannon at the protesters and made about 60 arrests, some for carrying weapons, pepper spray and razor blades, a spokesperson said, adding that some activists threw billiard balls at officers.

One police van was ablaze and another lay on its side on Friday afternoon in Rue de la Loi, a major road where several EU institutions are located.

Some protesters wore fluorescent high-visibility vests like those worn by demonstrators in France who have been protesting against a planned rise in gasoline tax. France’s Yellow Jackets are an apparently leaderless grass-roots movement that has shaken the political establishment. French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe met with protesters’ representatives on Friday afternoon amid calls for new protests the next day across the country.
