MAY 2017 Friday 19TH
posted by Lamiat Sabin and Peter Lazenby in Halifax and London

MILLIONS of pensioners face a triple whammy of “dementia tax” policies, including paying for their own social care at home, under new proposals outlined in the new Tory manifesto.
Hundreds of protesters delivered a “not welcome here” message to Prime Minister Theresa May as she launched her manifesto yesterday in Halifax, West Yorkshire — which included raising the limit of care costs, downgrading pensions and scrapping universal winter fuel allowance for wealthier pensioners.
She was met with jeers at the former textile mill complex that is now occupied by employees of small businesses — many of whom had been told by bosses to stay home for the day.
The manifesto lays out a number of damaging policies, including scrapping the £72,000 limit for residential or home care costs and getting rid of the triple-lock guarantee.
The triple-lock currently requires state pensions to increase each year by the largest of either 2.5 per cent, inflation or average earnings

I've been really annoyed about this, I'm hoping the Tories are trying to get out of leading for a few years so avoiding Brexit and then will come back and blame Labour (usual horrid tactics), it is a terrible manifesto hitting their base support. Pro fracking, pro fox hunting, omg..

Labour's manifesto was terrific. anti fracking, anti fox and badger killing.

Any Tory voters should see this as a kick in the teeth and switch their vote to Labour (or the SNP if in Scotland!) Labour and Tory manifestos are like chalk and cheese, yet there will STILL be those who will question Labours policies, not liking Mr Corbyn, or take on the worry that if they vote labour, how will it all be paid for? Well my dears, I wouldn`t worry about that because nothing can be worse than another FIVE YEARS of Tory austerity and vile hatred of the poor to save their big corporations and tax elites from losing out. And any party willing to give a licence to red coated buffoon`s to chase a terrified fox until it`s exhausted and then allow hounds to rip it to shreds while it`s still alive is enough evidence of their mindset. The only difference between the poor fox and us is that the fox doesn`t have to deal with DWP.

I confess I've been wondering the same Sand. Their whole election strategy seems to be trying to engineer deliberate failure. Or failing that they are so sure of victory that they feel it's safe to p**s on a few core Tory demographics policy wise because they think they have it in the bag
quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
