Seem its carry on regardless?

"Rudd told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that she remained committed to the completion of the “migration” of claimants of six old benefits on to universal credit by 2023.

She said: “I’m absolutely convinced that universal credit is a far better system than the legacy system it replaces." :woohoo:

She`s convinced UC is compassionate eh? Try telling that to the people who are sanctioned or have lost money by claiming it.

Basically flawed on every point she made even if there are statistics to back it up they are manipulated to the point of missing out virtually all of the problems with UC.

From the transcript:

"...incredible work you do, each and every day, to ensure our claimants receive the payments and support they need. [Every day there are people still not getting any money to live on]

"Work gives purpose dignity and security. [Surely most people would settle for survival compared to this govt's idea of 'work' as in programmes zero hours contracts etc after all that should read 'paid employment' to avoid any such confusion through ambiguity]

"We have re-introduced fairness into the system. [There is nothing quite like good ole tory fairness where the rich get more and the poor get even less]

"certainty that every extra hour of work pays more than staying on benefits, with these being withdrawn at a consistent taper rate

"These principles pumped much-needed fresh air into a failing system... [They have certainly pumped one kind of air into it]

"And in many areas we are succeeding. [If UC is so damn good why is it failing what it was supposed to do anywhere? With hindsight although ignorance is no excuse for a senior govt minister, maybe it would have been a better (more practical, less chaotic and ahem fairer) to have rolled out everywhere at the same time once you had got the system ready and properly working rather than just foist the equivalent of an unfinished Frankenstein's monster on hard working people and those simply not accustomed to paying rent directly, many of whom have been plunged into poverty even losing their homes as a result]

"My priority is to ensure that the transition is done well. [If the rest is considered to be going so well I find this worrying and suspect we are all going to get 'done' by the DWP]

"Instead, I’m only going to seek powers for a pilot: the chance to support 10,000 people through the process. [Drip, drip drip like a master torturer stretching its victim until one sinnew after another snaps - this I think is the biggest giveaway that the govt knows UC has already failed and what to drag out the pain for as long as possible in that typical bloody minded fashion we've all come to love so much]

"Women’s economic empowerment...I believe passionately that economic independence liberates women...the two-child policy retains its fundamental fairness. [Just look how this govt looks after women eh - ramp the pension age up without warning and act like they are saviours of humanity. As one of the women in the case above has mentioned: going back on benefits currently offers more stability for some women than going out to work - Well Done UK Govt! on wasting taxpayers money and everybody else's time on a flawed system]

"I am optimistic – because I know the basic principles are sound" [It's having all these principles which is the problem, what people actually need is down to earth practical common sense as in work=pay=living costs covered]
