Take a snip or a screen shot of the page saying that it is down. Write down the day/date it was down and for how long and I`m sure they would be able to check it. I don`t see why it should be our fault that we can`t access their crappy job site when there are other sites to be using anyway and remember, it`s only a condition that you have an active UJM account and not that you must use it every day unless it states that on your claimant commitment. Even so, if a website crashes, that`s their lookout, not ours. I logged into my UJM account late yesterday afternoon and managed to log in okay. Just wanted to check everything was in shut down and it hadn`t taken on a life of it`s own...

Its always best not to use that crap of a website.

People are opened to being sanctioned this is what they are hoping.

A great way of lets pull the plug on website and its happy days for dwp etc.

That`s true jobber. If everyone opened a UJM account but didn`t use it, the site would be useless. I only find it marginally useful to use the job search history section rather than use that daft booklet they give us, although anything I saved on UJM was always duplicated on paper also as I don`t trust electronic devices to lose valuable information. So always back up what you store on computer in writing. Especially job search. Jobs applied for, email addresses, names of people contacted, dates/times phone numbers and locations/job descriptions etc...

I found UJM to work really well against DWP. Each job activity, even the extremely short ones, I write down as one entry in my job search activity. Each page is like one day of activity. If I browse YouTube to listen to music I also open up a job search / CV / interview technique video - that's one activity! If I need to quickly run to the store to buy some milk I also look at different stores windows to see if they looking for people, that's another activity! When I meet up up with friends or family I often tend to talk about work with them, that usually goes down as one activity. I also write down almost daily that I browse forums (not mentioning any by name) that helps me with my job search (which they do!!). Everything counts and it fills up my UJM activity history page with so much stuff! Of course there are jobs applied for here and there.

If they want to go through my two whole weeks they need to go through 10+ pages! On top of this, UJM is very slow on my work coaches computers. So they don't ask question and just sign me on. If I stopped with UJM they would have printed papers to look through and they could then much easier find something they don't like if they wanted to sanction me. However that is just how I am doing it.

This is exactly what I do. Just to tease them I never put any activity for random days, and the odd time I've been questioned on this my reply is something like "Yes I logged in that day but my jobsearch activity I put in the next day". One idiot roach at my previous JCP said about this "well you have to be entering jobsearch activity every day on UJM". So I asked her about the rules/regulations where it states I have to do this, she soon shut up and never questioned it again. Nowhere on my CC does it state I have to do this and they can't enforce it. Fortunately my latest roach also agrees UJM is the most useless jobsearch site created. She even said it looked like something someone knocked up in less than 1 hour.

Oh, and the site is back up!

This could be a really useful topic.

Imagine a Work Roach trying to sanction a Jobseeker for not using Universal Jobmatch ...when UJ was down!

If Jobseekers knew when UJ was offline they could claim that they used it at that time. That would be just so wrong wouldn't it?

When I went on, it looked like it was working but search function for today wasn't. It showed no new jobs of any type anywhere.

Logged in this morning (not that I'm looking for work) and did a search for Assistant's in Supermarkets in a 10 mile radius with United Kingdom as the region.

Nothing!

Increased to 30 mile radius = Server Error

It'd be nice if the site was down during the next few weeks. It would make all meetings with the roach quite interesting...

Roach: Have you logged into UJM recently?
You: Have you? Go on, try it.
Roach: I get server error
You: I get server error at all my JCP appointments
Roach: Meaning?
You: Well, if I'm the customer....
Roach: Moving on, can you provide your jobsearch activity?
You: Yes, it's all on UJM
Roach: But...

Oh brilliant, the UJ site is down yet AGAIN. Hope its fixed for Monday, or I'll have eight irate job seekers at my Voluntary work (plus myself) unable to keep records. I mean, if you're going to spend a lot of our money getting a site designed on your behalf by Monster, then take the time to do it properly. I will be writing that the site was non-operational on my activity history when it does work, and will recommend that individuals take paper notes accordingly. I also recommend complaining if you are signing on, not that it actually does any good, but I like to remind my work coach on these occasions what a crap site it is.

I remember when the UJ site went down last year and I was trying to log into my account. It sets panic going when it shouldn`t. Our lives don`t revolve around this website, although they like to think it does. I would just note all the websites I DID visit and keep a paper log and take a screen shot of the webpage saying it`s down and make sure the dates and times are in accordance with it. They can`t argue with fact.

Yeah I saw that just a few minutes ago. All these years never heard of it being "upgraded" before, they'll probably make the site even worse to use....
