Doing my job search this morning using UJM and taken to Solid staff.com yet it says i cannot apply for a job as with in the last 35days ive applied to the same employer/comapny. Absolute joke as they are different positions. Never seen anything like this before and for those who have to apply for a certain amount of jobs this is just another kick in the teeth.
Anyone else seen anything like this before ?

No I've never come across that before. It doesn't make any sense as it's a different job! Funny way for an employment agency to operate.

Could be a block to stop previous applicants they didn`t want re-applying? In other words, they can`t be bothered looking over the same applicants details again when they were refused the first time round for another position within the company? Lazy gits!

Still include it in your jobsearch history, it's still relevant as you actually took the steps to apply for the job, but state reason why you couldn't apply. Even better take a screenshot where it states you cannot apply for the job, and show it to any work roach if they enquire about it.

On this subject of applying for jobs twice. Is there any dwp regulations regarding this as I find I have applied for the same job more than once :S . Just on different times, what I mean be this is I apply for the vacant position. And get the unfortunate email reply back. Then some time later when the position is advertised online again I have applied for the same job again. Most of the time I didn't realise that I have done this, as I don't pay that much attention to the jobs I have previously applied for. I just wondering if it is me, or others have done this.

Nothing in regulations, Dude. But DWP's comic DMG Vol.3 Chapter 21 touches on it at paragraph 21644

"Steps taken in previous weeks 21644 The steps that claimants took in previous weeks to seek work often affect what they can reasonably be expected to do in the week in question. For example, if claimants have already written to employers enquiring about vacancies, and they 1. are still awaiting a reply or 2. have been told that no work is available they cannot reasonably be expected to write to that employer again until a reasonable time has passed. 21645 If claimants 1. have already registered with an employment agency or business and 2. they have promised to let them know of any suitable vacancies it is reasonable for claimants to wait, for a time, for the agency to contact them. But there will usually be other steps that they could reasonably be expected to take." Pg 159

Yes I agree Spanner, what is a “reasonable time has passed”. Most jobs I apply for usually say ‘it not heard from us in four week assume unsuccessful in your application’. I just treat these reposted jobs as new applications. Unless it says “previous applicant need not apply”. As it all goes towards the 35 hrs on the job search treadmill  .
