Government announces Universal Jobmatch changes

"Recruiter understands the changes have been brought about due to frustration from jobseekers being redirected to other sites, as well as dealing with duplicate adverts. Three quarters of the 1.3m ads placed on the service come from commercial job boards, while SMEs and micro employers have found their adverts lost among the sheer volume of job board ads."

My head is throbbing today so apologies for my gabling. So does this mean when we apply for a job on UJM, we won`t now be taken/re-directed to an off-site website/jobsite?

I read it to say that bulk refresh and bulk upload from job boards like Monster will be stopped, so people can find other jobs from single employers.

It will still be a crap, tracking site for the benefit of the Job Centre.

I think Universal Jobmatch just got so bad that they were forced to do something, anything, that would stop the ridicule.

But this is the best that the plankton at DWP could come up with !

The idea of UJ was to automatise the sanctions process.
In the deranged vision of of a "fully digitalised" Benefit System there were no place for JCPs, everybody would have been tied to their online presence 24/7.

The entire business then, inevitably went pear shaped, these late tweaks are inn line with disengaging from the large suppliers, so close to former boss IDS.

I think you are right here. I believe DWP doesn't like there are so many jobs off-site on UJM - jobs they can't easily check if someone applied for. Now more people will apply for more jobs inside UJM. I already had employers giving me feedback back on UJM that I was not suitable for a job. My work coach was fine with it but I can imagine this will get more people sanctioned.

"Commenting on the development, Minister for Employment, Damian Hinds said the changes have been brought about after user feedback, and will mean jobseekers can navigate the site more quickly and easily."

Thats a great idea Mr Hinds  , with the 35xhrs rule on the Univ Credit. So this will mean I have do find another website to stare aimlessly for hours at a time! :pinch:
