I was on the CWP last year before getting a job. I received this e-mail the other day and I was wondering if anyone else has something similar.

Looks like they are after either a payout or at least some brownie points and credit from DWP because you started work.

They have no power over you. I would just ignore them and consign their email address to junk.

There is actually nothing new about this type of bribe. It has all been done before. The trick is, you don't actually receive anything after you supply the details that they need to claim an outcome payment for themselves. I would ignore this and block the address.

The thing is, I used the place he's talking about for a reference in return for letting them know where I'm working at. Presumably, they phoned them a few times over the following months to check I'm still there. I won't say no to free money but I'm still not sure what they want.

I don't really have a problem with them, the reference alone was really valuable. I probably wouldn't have been able to get anything otherwise as my last few places were with agencies, who I think do not give anything like that out.
